Mildenhall Hub Leisure Facilities

The Mildenhall Hub proudly introduces its state-of-the-art leisure amenities, highlighted by two impressive swimming pools.

The main pool is a 25m six-lane marvel equipped with starting blocks, catering to competitive swimmers and enthusiasts alike. Accompanying this is a versatile teaching pool, measuring 20.9m by 8.0m, featuring a movable floor for varied depth requirements, making it ideal for both beginner lessons and advanced training.

Accessibility is a priority, including a PoolPod for assisted entry, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the facilities. Both pools benefit from a cutting-edge clean water filtration system, underscoring the Hub’s commitment to maintaining a pristine swimming environment.

Project Highlights

This ambitious £39 million project, backed by Suffolk County Council, was completed within an impressive 18-month timeframe. Wrightfield was chosen through a competitive tender process to deliver and install the custom-built community stainless steel pools, which include advanced filtration, pumps, and necessary pipework.

The regeneration effort revitalised the swimming facilities and preserved historical elements of the original Lido, such as the 1920s turnstiles and wooden cubicles, blending heritage with modern sophistication. The Mildenhall Hub is now a premier destination for leisure and community activities, seamlessly combining tradition and innovation.

Project Background

This was a high profile £39m regeneration project supported by Suffolk County Council.

Following a tendering process Wrightfield were selected to supply and install 2 custom built community stainless steel pools; a 25m * 17m main pool, and a 20.9m * 9.4m training pad along with filtration, pumps and all the associated pipework that was needed.
