Wrightfield Pools was commissioned to design and manufacture a bespoke hydraulic moving pool floor for a private residential project at Stoney Lodge in Essex, creating a versatile swimming pool that could adapt to a range of users, activities and water depths at the touch of a button.

The installation featured a substantial moving floor measuring 14.53 metres by 3.6 metres, capable of travelling through 1.5 metres of water depth within a 2.2-metre-deep pool tank. The system allows the pool owner to vary the water depth to suit different activities, from family recreation and gentle exercise through to swimming and aquatic fitness.

At the heart of the installation is Wrightfield's proven water-hydraulic moving floor technology. The stainless steel platform is supported by robust hydraulic scissor mechanisms, powered using water rather than oil-based systems. This provides a safe, contaminant-free solution with excellent load-bearing capabilities and long-term reliability.

The floor itself was engineered from stainless steel and designed to accept the client's chosen pool finish, while integrated self-depositing access steps automatically move with the floor to maintain safe and convenient entry at every depth setting.
